I was just reading a post from Bob Bly on "Why I Never Enter Advertising Competitions."
Anyway, it reminded me that you only have until COB this Friday, July 22 to submit your entries for IAEM's "Art of the Show" competition.
Which, btw, I've never entered. Although I've had clients who chose to submit and who won first prize for stuff I wrote and did creative direction on.
And you know what? The piece(s) looked grrrrrreat. But they didn't pull squat. (That's one on the left). They were designed to be "image" pieces, not response mechanisms.
I may have one this year too - not sure if the client entered it or not. A lenticular 3-d postcard. Got a lot of positive comments from their Board and the focus group people remembered it. But it ended up going out without label or piece codes. So no measurement. Feh.
