It's rare that I attend shows that aren't client events or trade show related. But I admit I'm looking forward to visiting INPEX this week in Pittsburgh after I get back from Connecticut.
INPEX is the "The Invention Show" and features all sorts of ideas, some with a future, others destined to be consigned to a attic corner. But half the fun of attending is in the enthusiasm and emotional investment of the exhibitors, since almost all the exhibitors are the inventors themselves.
Many are moms and pops trying to launch something for the first time. Others are serial inventors with a track record.
It's only at INPEX where you can see items like this sign to help pizza delivery boys find your house. Or buy a "Kick Hockey" puck (although do we really need a special puck to play kick hockey?) And where else would you find the FootleTM, a device that lets you open your patio screen door with your foot?
It should be fun.
Who knows? If I find something I really like, perhaps I'll try to sign them up as a new client.
