I still have to port the thing over to its own domain, but for those of you who've been asking about the coffee shop, I finally finished getting the Aldo Coffee Co. blog put together. Now you can keep up with me in two places. I know, you're thrilled.
We need a more professional banner and there are still some formatting issues, but for $7.95/month hosting, this ain't bad. Best I can tell, we're the only espresso joint in all of PA with a blog.
There's another writer who comes in and turns the shop into his office for a couple hours a day. We got to talking and when I told him what I really did for a living, he was surprised. We talked about writing and clients and the challenges of both.
Then he noted that I had just been taking orders from a 12-year old on how to make a proper Smoothie and currently had a fresco of coffee, berry goo, pistachio cannoli and mayonnaise drying on my apron. And, he asked, did I mind that?
No, I don't. In fact, I sort of like it.
Especially when he told me the panini I'd made was excellent.
Love the coffeeshop blog--especially the coffee of the day idea. What a great way to spread the love and show just how not-Starbucks the place is (though I'm sure you all wouldn't mind making Starbucks-level bucks). If I'm ever in town, I'll have to get Aldo-ized.

I'll take making smoothies all day for my own business rather than work for someone else any day! It's funny how 14 hours of work on your own business will pass faster than just a couple hours working for a boss.
