The American Marketing Association recently conducted a comprehensive survey to determine what marketers are making.
Results can be found on their new Marketing Salaries site.
The data should be pretty accurate, considering there were 70,000 responses to the survey.
Two things you should know before visiting:
1. There is no category for "trade shows" or "conferences" or even "events". (We've been dissed again!) Closest matches would probably be "Hospitality/Media" or "Marketing/Ad Agency", although the latter may provide some overinflation. Still, it's a good source of info if you're considering moving or changing industries.
2. The opening page is creepy. There are these photos of people sort of staring into space. Just when you think they're static photos, they they move their eyes to look at you. I'm not sure what this adds to the site other than... well, creepiness.
